Worth the improvements
I like the larger GUI on the Pultec collection and the ability to use the three components separately or together depending on the task. Example; the HLF-3C on it's own can be used to easily dial in a filtered effect that sounds great. It doesn't just "do the job", but somehow adds some magic. I had previously bought the Legacy Pro version and was a little dubious about buying the plug again, but I am not sorry. Technology sprints onwards and UAD's improvements capitalise on the emerging possibilities. I look forward to any session using the Apollo software. Addictive!

UAD nail it
congratulations UA for listening to your customers and updating the Pultec with your latest algorithms and programming, something we have been calling for on forums and in surveys. And for giving current owners of the original UAD Pultec a break on the price. That is truely looking after your customers and keeping them happy! i cannot recommend the new Pultec plugin enough. There are plenty of lookalike emulators but only one original and that is the UAD version!

better than legacy
i loved the legacy series EQ had to try the new version was not disappointed this thing sounds great.I use it on drum buss gives the kick a little more balls, Bass guitar same ,this is the ticket for a great sounding EQ.can't beat the December price

Need to have
As I am sure many have it, I must always consider, whether a potential aquisition is "like to have" or "need to have".
The way, I love to make music, is the completely obsolete method of recording with real instruments.
Now, those two don't go particularly well together, as the ideal for me is from a time, when recordings were done on big ridiculously expensive consoles.
With Universal Audios plugins it is possible to get as close to that organic sound, as I have ever been. Actually, I am surprised with my poor engineering skills just how close I can get to the sound of all those legendary recordings, and without having to jump through hoops.
Once I heard the Fairchild TLC, I knew, I not only would like to have it. I needed to have it!

I can not say enough about UAD plugins. They're in a whole other league by themselves. The LA-2A on vocals is pure magic. I use them on just about every session. This combined with my 1176 is when magic happens! Wonderful job UA! You guys are the best.....really

Une prise prise de voix / guitares à laquelle on rajoute un bon EQ et on a tout de suite la couleur UA qui remonte.
J'ai utilisé plusieurs émulations de 1176 celles d'UA restent pour moi, les meilleurs.

Slamming / Amazing
Unreal / warm / liquid - this is possibly the best device UAD have converted. Lots of colour and lots of character.
When it's pushed it brings out air and depth - and can be tweaked to make crushed/brickwalled drums sound insane...
If you work with electronic or acoustic - this device is a must for getting that vintage slamming limitation.

Pretty Cool
I didn't use the legacy version that much, but the new ones are noticeably better. I use them quite a bit.
Even with no compression it adds depth and definition I could be imagining this, but I don't think so, it's pretty clear.
the mix knob and sidechain knob are also incredibly useful.
this basically crushes any other fairchild emulation i've tried.

1176s rule!
I was a little skeptical after trying all other 1176 emulations and NOT being convinced. I tried the UAD demo and was absolutely floored at how well theyve captured the 1176 sound. I havent felt the need to use the hardware since!

Loooove this!
I used the Legacy version quite a bit in the past but this is a huge upgrade. This sounds absolutely amazing on everything. I really use this bad boy on overheads, acoustic guitar, and on the 2 bus. I also like to use it on a backup vox bus to tighten the vox without coloring the sound too much. I know the word "warm" is thrown out there quite a bit but for a plugin but this is a truly warm sounding plugin.
