Great saturation
I've played around with Studer and Ampex plug-in before decides which one to buy. Well, in the end I've bought both. Studer A800 is the best to add lots of saturated colours on instruments and the mix itself. And i loved that retro sound that only tape machines give to the music.
Still I would love to see retina versions of these and all UAD plugins.

Best Tape plugin
Oh, boy! This is an incredible versatile tape emulation plugin! The sound character is amazing and you can have a lot of fun with the tape delay option. I think I have test the main tape emulation plugins available. Ampex ATR-102 is by far the best!

Great Sounding Equalizer BUT....
For me (EQP-1A) there are many frequencies missing, It could be very flexible EQ for sound design.
Specifically low frequencies 20, 30, 60, 100 isn't really much. It could be expanded in digital domain especially...would be nice if UAD makes an update and add some more flexibility. There could be more frequency ranges to choose from what would make it very attractive product ;)
Other then that...Sounds great on anything!
Many thx :)

Brings the api to the bedroom.
Having spent some time with analog api gear I feel like this has captured the sound of analog api so much it's like having a mobile api rig.

Love the CCIR EQ setting
I love the way the CCIR EQ setting gives a vintage brightness to the tone. Along with the beautiful saturation I can get with it, I normally choose this over the 6 other tape plug-ins I own.

Simple to use and I dig!!!
I bought this set of plugins after trying it on the kik and Snare channels.
It solved the problem of getting the click of the Kik not to seem seperate from the Boof and I had been endlessly tweaking the channel previously to its purchase trying to get rid of that problem. The Snare had way more body and the snap was easily softened by it.
Like the 1176 collection has a different place to use it.
I used the prehistoric LA 2A on the Kik and a different one on the Vocals and likewise the snare.
I would say i am not a tweakhead but that would be a lie when in comes to the overall mix.
I don't want to get bogged down in endless tweaking of compressors, pedals or plugins. There's enough to do.
I dig It!!!

Yummy EQ
I've never worked with a real Pultec. I have used the UA Legacy and the Waves. Both of those are nice and give you a special experience but this update takes it into total realism. The best way I can describe it: when you add or cut a frequency, it never sounds bad. Even if you've chosen the wrong frequency. It just sounds like you've added that frequency. Especially 3k-5k range, with other EQs, you can ruin a vocal but this just gives you more presence. The highs are sweet and creamy and the lows are big. 'Nuff said - buy it.

Silver、Gray、Original

The sound of HEAVEN
I tend to look for the analog style sound (as most of us probably do these days). The range of 'analog' tonalities that this thing can offer is quite breathtaking

Fantastic EQ
I didn't do A/B comparisons with the Legacy bundle but I didn't pay much for the Pultec Passive EQ collection and felt I needed it. Whether it is necessary or not you'll have to decide. For me this is a fantastic EQ. I have lots of great EQs, some quite flexible and powerful. I love the DMG Audio stuff. However, the Pultec EQs are magical. I use them all over my projects including the mix buss. They can add a wonderful high end lift to anything without being harsh and can pump up the low end in a meaty way. It is hard to explain really but you start turning the knobs and you're like, wow, that sounds like a record. My only complaint is you don't get a plug with all the modules like legacy. Fix that and this gets an A+.

Depth and vibe!
I noticed a huge difference as soon as I replaced the Pultec Legacy (that I have used for years) for the new versions on my mix bus. It's night and day. So much better sounding and a 3d quality to my mixes. And it's just passing audio thru it. Should've got this sooner

Great
Great. №1 for drums and percussion. Small pale Kick began to sound tight and confident. Lonely Snare made friends with the song. Only two handles - INPUT and OTPUT! Magic!

Great plugin to have in your arsenal.
The API Vision brings a clarity to tracks that is unrivaled. I picked this as part of my 6 plugins combo I purchased when I registered my Apollo Twin USB. I spent a few intense weeks of just rigorously testing out various UAD plugins over and over, and researching to decide which ones to get. In other words, I spent a LOT of time making sure to pick out the bests. Out of all the preamps and channel strips, the API vision was my favorite (besides the Neve 1073 which I also got). Right off the bat it's easy to work with and make the tracks sound noticeably better. If you want a can-do-it-all type of plugin for compression, eq, etc, get the API Vision.

Amazing
I am all about that analog tape vibe -- I love mixing lofi analog sounds along with hifi digital recordings in a mix, creating that contrast. So when it comes to analog-simulation vsts, I like the ones that REALLY give it that tape vibe -- even when it's to the point of destruction. The ATR-102, out of the other UAD tape sims, is the best and most authentic when you want to get that warmth. Whether you want to make your drums just a tad warmer, or make them sound like they've been recorded on a boombox back in '85, this plugin will help you get there. I've used and tested a LOT of analog tape plugins (pretty much all of them) and this is the best out as of right now.

Great plugin for a great price.
Great little plug. I also own the Ampex ATR-102 and at first thought that would be enough, but the Oxide is capable of putting a great little lofi crunch on guitars, bass, etc -- just enough to warm it up and give it some grit, a little edge, and cut off some of those hi's to give it some of that analog tape vibe (if that's what you're going for...which I am!)

Great analog warmth!
If you want "past and future! warmth on your songs, this is it! Only thing i would have loved was a simple "tape hiss" button to click on and off in case it was a song i would liked to be "all silent" but still get the warmth of the plug in:) but well, its just to dial those knobes, and you will find a solution.
