Smooth
I have never met the original, but both Studer and Otari in the analog era. I myself own a wonderful Revox G36 with its typical saturated warm compression. This is in the same class. Awesome.

Love the Studer A800
It definitely smooths out the tracks without altering them in a negative way or straight adding tape his like some claim. It’s absolutely an upgrade over oxide.

After 20 years of working with PT in studio’s with analog desks, its so great to get the same feeling totally in the box, where you can actually see a console in front of you, and work with plug-ins at the same time, it works really intuitively .

Open up the harmonics
This little beast is so transparent. Its great and doesn't change anything about the sound. Open up with a nice bright addition of harmonics and adds a great amount of detail to your sound. Using this as a export from soft synths, basses and leads. Love the character this gives.
