Interesting
I can remember using two inch reel to reel back in the early nineties, but honestly can't recall the effect it had on the overall sound, but this plug in does do something lovely and interesting to sound.

Classic tape sound
Adds that classic tape sound to any track to glue together the mix. Learn to master it and you'll improve your mixes remarkably. Recommended.

Great Tape, easy to use !!
I love tapes and I tend to use them on every channel, I love the studer that does a great job for removing harshness and brightness on high and add warmth on low. I tried Oxide and the simplicity and the color pushed me to get it to have more flavor to play with. I recommend it on kick, bass, and anything you want really to add a nice round touch. Just try it !!

This is THE Chorus effect for your bass
I have tried several things to enhance my bass sounds. Then I purchased this plugin because it was a thing of folklore. Now I see why...it is amazing. It never seems to step on the mid signal's toes. All it does is add glorious width and movement to the bass without the added mud that can cloud up other things in the mix. It is one of my favorite plugins.

LA2A plugin collection is the perfect swiss army knife
I often became frustrated with my original LA2A plugin thinking I just wasn't dialing it in correctly. Well, it wasn't just me. Literally, as soon as I tried the LA2A silver face, things just came forward in the mix in a way I had never heard before. Then I tried the grey face on my vocal buss and it was like magic. You owe it to yourself to give these a try because you will love what you hear.

1176 KIILER
Killer compressors.
Used it on Drum Bus and Guitar Bus.
Sort of my go-to plug ins now.
You won't go wrong with this!

KILLER REVERB
A killer reverb that I've been using on another UAD system of mine.
Been venturing to using this live (stereo) together with my Lexicon PCM92. Best combination ever.

This plugin sounds great on any track you put it on. I mainly use it for vocals, can't explain what it's doing to the vocals, but they just sound better after putting it on the track; simply using the vocal preset. It sounds good on your overall mix as well. If you do all of your mixing in the box, this plugin will add some analog warmth to your tracks, and make it sound less digital.

It's all been said ...
... about what a great emulation this is - and with a few extra features it is, for me, 'the boss'. If you want a reverb to stand up and say 'Heh - listen to me!' 224 is your solution. It's not so much a reverb as the sound of a huge chasm waiting to happen!'

Very Close To The Real Thing
I've got the 2500 hardware comp, and it sounds amazing, but I honestly haven't touched it since I got my UA rig. The software is so freakin' close at a fraction of the cost, and you get recall, automation, and multiple instances.
I haven't been able to bring myself to sell my hardware unit yet, but at some point I'll get tired of seeing it sit idol in my rack.

This buries all other 224 emulations
It has analog soul and grit. I've bought a few 224 knockoffs such as the NI RC 24, which are nice in their own right (you can never have too many reverbs), but they sound smoother and less analog by comparison. This plugin seems to have unique non-linearities in its DNA, which make it feel more lively. Whatever the reason, I love the sound of it and have started reaching for it a lot more frequently.

The classic 224
Heard on countless albums from the 80s and beyond. This is an essential reverb tool. Such beautiful color. Everything from minimal spaciousness to humongous halls. I use it on guitars, vocals, synths, and even mixes. Great all around effect. Has a permanent home in my send bus. In fact, it has been so satisfying, I haven't even tried the other UA reverb options yet. The Lexicon 224 is my go-to for reverberation. A must have!
