Never used a real hardware version, and had only previous experience with the legacy (which was still nice), and the Waves one.... But now I'm just even more confused what separates them and makes them all different.. they are nice though.

instant tape sound
I also own the studer and the ampeg, but the oxide is faster to dial in and sounds different: 7,5 for cleaning up mud in the low mid range (great for bass or e-piano), 15 for warmth and sizzling harmonics with Ccir-EQ (vocals, acoustic guitar...). Very good preset-organisation, too. I wish there would be comparable presets for other plugs (organized in terms of use/instrument than in terms famous knob-twisters).

So far so good
I like Gray a lot, for tracking and for keeping things warm. Also it's really smooth. Silver is a bit more drastic and gives that natural brightness but I feel it takes away lows even if you apply 0 gain reduction, this can be beneficial for some instruments. I used it on the mix bus along with a Maxxbass and it worked just fine. Didn't really use the LA-2A(3rd one) a lot yet, so I can't say much for that one.
I bought this bundle because I wanted to upgrade my LA-2A classic and it feels I took the right choice, much fuller and characteristic sounds so far.

Although you may not believe.
Amazingly, Teletronix LA, has left me surprised at the quality, power, clarity, warmth and many others that if I mention this because not end my review, I did not know that a plugin could be as accurate compared to a real piece, imagine all the big bucks you can save with these emulators.
It is clear that only plug-ins Universal Audio admit they are the best and Realistic, have over 20 years experience in the industry as a producer and I have dealt with almost all plugins from different companies that may exist, and only Universal Audio me has given the results with ease, speed and great analog sound all go looking today to combat the digital herror.

Très versatile!
Je pourrais utiliser ce plug-in sur presque toutes mes pistes. Extrêmement polyvalent et facile à trouver un bon son. Thumbs up!

Most versatile UAD effect EVER!
The Studio D, which emulates the Dimension D (which I'm a proud owner of), makes me rethink even owning the hardware since the software is PERFECT and I can have tons of instances of it.
I use the Studio D on Vox, Drums, Piano, GUITARS, and even a mix bus here and there because I can tweak it subtlety.
If you're looking for a more typical stereo chorus that has less "subtleness", heavy modulation and thickness, you should look into the UAD Brigade Chorus or the TAL-Chorus-LX.

Very Good but not a generic chorus..
If you like this kind of vibe-sound is excellent.I like it on many sources.I don"t like that it doesn't have a mix control.
For a cleaner sound try stilwell cmx.it is fantastic.

Amazing!
Great sounding and versatile effects plugin. Love the variety of presets and uses. Its amazing what you can do with just the feedback and echo rate.. The only thing that would make it better is if I was able to control the settings from my MIDI keyboard...

Another great colour for your tonal palette....
I own and love the other 2 UAD tape sims (Ampex and Studer), so I didn't give this one much of a look when it came out. That was a mistake! Curiosity got the best of me and eventually I tried it out...and was so impressed I had to pick it up. This is a different thing entirely to the Studer and Ampex (and Slate VTM, for that matter) - and as a general purpose tape sim that takes very little processing power (and is CHEAP) it really can't be beat! I have certain uses for the others where they always shine, but I end up with more instances of this in mix sessions than the others now. If you own any of the others and have been thinking owning this would be redundant, you should definitely hit the demo button and let this one speak for itself.

Gets the job done in a simple way

My Favorite tape plug-in
I own the Studer and Ampex but this is my favorite. Partly because it sounds so good, and partly because it's so easy to use. Love it!

UA's 1176...Now in Every Mix!
In the studio, when we’d in-line an 1176 in the mix, it was like adding another player in the band. A Good One! Now, thanks to UA, you can do it with your mouse. This is the emulation I’ve been waiting for. This is now my ITB 1176. The entire 1176 collection is spot on. If I need a “60s Vibe” I’ve got it. If I need that Spitin’ Hit Snare to raise some hair, I got it! Thanks Guys. This is a must have for me. - KEVIN GILROY
