The Non-Chorus 'Chorus' Effect Everyone Wants Is Back !

We use to use this hardware in the studio to widen the sound and get that depth without hearing a typical 'chorus' sound !
UAD did a great job nailing this. I'm using it on an Arp'd bell track now and it adds that 'Dimension D' signature thickness without a typical chorus tone !
Fabulous indeed !

Still so good!

This has made its way in to most mixes I have done for years now. Brilliant at what it does.

Une touche analogique

Bonjour

Studio D / Dimension D

Look, I don't know why UAD stopped working with Roland, but what is sure is that UAD changed the name of the plugin and kept the same product.
Those are emulations made by UAD years ago, and they had the name of Roland...
What I mean is that UAD Studio D = Roland Dimension D, The emulation that UAD made for Roland...
Same For UAD Galaxy Tape Echo = Roland RE-201 Space Echo
Same For UAD Brigade CHorus = Roland BOSS CE-1
I would really like to know why they stopped the partnership with Roland...

Awesome!

Often adds a lot more to a mix or track than expected. Was skeptical at first, but from the moment I inserted the demo version I was very impressed. Colors the sound very similar to my 8-track 1/2 inch. I purchased it and use it often....Highly recommended....

I thought that having Oxide was "good enough"

I initially thought that this was too expensive, and that having Oxide would be enough for my tape emulation needs. While Oxide does a great job of sounding like a tape machine, the studer is just way more adjustable and allows for a much larger sound palette. However, there is one caveat. I am glad I purchased it during Magnetic Tape month though, just because the normal price is more than i would comfortably spend. Im not a pro user, so I cant justify 3-500 bucks for bits, no matter how good they are. At 200 bucks, the studer is a no-brainer purchase. At full price, I would not have purchased it, but only on principle.

Magic

Just apply the LA-2A on a vocal or a guitar track, and it will make it sound great.

Pure gold

You dont really need to comment on this plugins, since they are pretty much the best software representation of analog units available. I've been working with hardware Teletronix La-2a plenty of times so I know how musical that stuff is. This is the closest i've yet to see. I especially love the La-2 unit, its attack time does wonders to my buses.

Fantastic quick and dirty tape

Great alternative to the other UAD tape emulations in that it has minimal controls and most of the time it's just a case of instantiating the plugin and affecting the input and output! Lovely sounding saturation if you want to drive it and is the perfect antidote for sometimes anaemic digital recordings. Big thumbs up!

Universal Audio LA2A

Thank You for a very good plugin.
It would make sense that any future updates for 1176, LA2A, LA3A etc plugins are completely free for customers already owning them.

Keep up with the great work,
Thank You

The Right Complement to the Studer and Ampex Machines

Just like many folks before me, I thought that there was no room for improvement after buying the UAD tape machines. In fact, they have left my U-He Satin sitting virtual dust. However, Oxide is another flavor to add to the roster. It may look like a dumbed-down version of its older brothers, but it's not. It's simple to use, great sounding, and a *different* tone from the other two tape machine emulations. If you can't jump the gun for Ampex or Studer yet, this is a great way to get your foot through the door. And you get a discount for the other two plugins in the future.

Fat & LOUD

One of the few plugins I've ever audibly said "Wow" to. These plugins sound larger than life (and definitely larger than the box.) Very musical and colors any track beautifully. I find myself throwing these guys on a track often for just the color itself. They are also very loud, making it easy to bring a source up to volume without having to compress it to death. All 3 plugins sound great but very different, I find myself using the Gray and the LA-2 the most, especially the LA-2 for keeping transients intact but dynamics tamed. The LA2A collection does use a decent amount of DSP, however if you have a UA satellite you'll likely be fine. Best on Bass, Vox, Keys, Busses... (everything)
