How Can You Not Have An API In Your Arsenal?
First used this on a vocal that needed to cut thru the mix. Ever since then, I knew I had to have it. The super crisp and snappy response of the API is unlike anything Neve or LA2A. When you need that precise and quick response, you need the API pure and simple. You won't be disappointed. Its now one of my go to inputs for Vocals.

Thank You Universal Audio!!!
When you guys did not renew your license with Roland...I saw the rumbles in blogs and articles and just a few days ago begin to rethink my investment. I am commented to UA both hardware and software and plan to stay the course with this company and their superior products. Anyway I love the 201 and now that you have put out your own I love your version. And the fact that you support the Roland version and gave customers who paid for the 201 the Galaxy let me know that you do care about us!
Also it sounds amazing thanks again!!!!!

Great plugin
Oxide is a magical plugin that every music producer will enjoy having that.
It's really nice and tighten up low frequency and punch to your tracks wich is difficult to set it up with other tape saturators.good to know that i have ampex 102 and studer a800 but this is something else.

Big bottom
I find myself having to work the lows with a multiband a bit (which I do anyway) after placing it on the masterbus, but for my style of production (hiphop, alternative rock) this is the one seems to work best and it has taken over the Ampex position in most cases. Still use Studer for individual tracks.

Magical
Each la2a has something special about them with silver being my go to ALL the time for lead vocals. It just sounds awesome and smooth. I fully recommend that this should be a top 3 purchase when acquiring a UAD system.

Sounds great
I was impressed with the 1176 series plugins once I tried them out. They have all the character of the original so I see why engineers praise them. Just get it and you will be happy.

This was a true reason to own a UAD device...
The studer 800A is among the best of the best with so many options and tape stocks to choose from. I cannot believe that Universal Audio doesn't have the same reputation as isotope's Ozone 7. I prefer the old-school soul way more and the warmer the better. I have no regrets with this plug in at all. It may be expensive but it makes my tracks sound very unique, which is what I'm going for :D

The Main reasons I own the UAD Mastering Systems...
Their Tape emulations are SPOT-ON and this unique Tape emulation is a ver good introduction to those who find the Ampex or Stuter 800A a little complex for them. But don't let that fool you. The quality is beautiful and has that warm and very pleasant sound in the peaks the few times it does peak :D

Easy to use Tape emulation
This came with my Apollo 8P purchase and was a pleasant surprise. It adds character and punch to tracks with a very simple to use interface. I will be using Oxide Tape a lot.

just like tape without the fuss
Nice and close to the sound of tape, gives body and roundness to your audio and a little compression along the way.
I would not put one of these on every channel, as you would compress your entire mix too much, but for richness to instruments and vocals and possibly bass, it will give great results.
Anything a bit sterile sounding it will give some warmth back into the sound.
The beauty of this plugin is you dont need a team of technicians to constantly maintain it and keep it calibrated.
I love the sound of tape and this plugin comes very close to the real thing, without the fuss of maintenance.
Thanks UA for a great plugin.

Tape emulator
I don't know what it really does but I like it. Seems to act like a saturator.

UAD 1176 Collection
The best 1176 emulation plugin on the market! Using it on a daily basis, perfect choice for vocals, guitars and drums. It gives the punch i needed and harmonics are outstanding, can not tell the difference between real hardware and plugin.
Great UAD product as usual!

Instant better maker
Having been disappointed by tape emulators in the past, I hadn't delved into UAD's more expensive offerings, figuring the benefit to cost ratio wouldn't be to my advantage. Recently, I found myself with a coupon and nothing I really wanted that I didn't already have, and I noticed the lower price of Oxide. I thought, alright, give it a try, and activated the demo. After inserting instances on drums and bass of a recently tracked song, I immediately heard the improvement to what I (and the band) thought were impeccably recorded beds. Further applying it to the scratch guitars and vocals closed the deal. I purchased Oxide right away. Now I'm considering a second Satellite so I can run more instances of it on bigger projects...

The Tool for Work Unload
The Studeras the first insert in every track makes mixing much easier. All of a sudden, harsh or brittle top end gets smoothed out, lows sit together well among tracks, transients get clear and defined. In the end, less tweaking is needed to mix tracks. You can gang the channels together for a real-life like pass of multitrack tape recording, or you can even tweak and eq each channel individually. Time is saved, and that alone makes it worth buying.

Lay it on!
I put this on everything! I use it on the way in, on sends in the project, and I'd use it on the master bus if not for the Ampex.
