Instant goodness
I've demoed all the UAD tape sins, and while the Ampex and Studer are awesome and very tweakable (and over twice the price), Oxide holds it own and makes up for it's lack of options with near instant great tone. You really can do quite a bit with just the input and output alone. Using this a lot on drum busses and acoustic guitars, but it works on just about anything. Highly recommended.

great for tracking
this is my most used plug in for recording sax. I use it as a channel strip.

Pultec passive is massive!
Certainly a huge step forward from the Pultec Legacy Collection! I used to put the Pultec Pro Legacy on the drum channel in every track, now I exchanged it for the new Pultec Passive EQ Plug-Ins and you can really hear the difference! Simply put: It sounds more professional! Even if you leave it in neutral position it adds something to your sound! (just be careful to adjust the output-gain accordingly as the EQP-1A adds approx. 1db of gain to your signal!)

1176 is why I am still here!
I own the real UA 1176 & Urei 1178 hardware & its never fail to give that great feeling every time. And as long as I can remember, since the 1st time I was introduced to UAD1 back in the days, 1176 is the go-to compressor for me & its sounded almost perfect like the hardware. But then came the new 1176 upgrade & once again Uad blew my roof away! The blue version really glue my vocal tracks. Thanks Uad team!

Best LA2A plug in on the market
I have had every LA2A plug in under the sun and by far the UAD LA2A collection is the best. It's the only LA2A plug in that gives me the feeling of hardware. While I have yet to really find an appropriate source for the LA2 or silver, the grey is my absolute favorite on vocals, providing great control while still allowing enough transients to come through to keep my vocals detail intact. The analog warmth really comes alive in this plug. Not to mention the Interface of this plug is just fantastic! Best 50 dollars I ever spent!

The best (plug-in) reverb
The best (plug-in) reverb I have ever used. Amazing.

Nice.
This is a great plugin. A subtle combination of saturation, compression and smoothing of harsh frequencies - at least that is what it sounds like to me (I have limited professional experience as a producer)
What really amazes it me is that ,so far, every source I have used on it has been improved by it and I always record through it now (unless recording guitar where I run out of resources when using it in the correct position in the chain (after the pre-preamp fx and amp model- I then use it next in chain on my daw)
It is resource hungry but well worth it.
So if you want a source fattening up and sweetening - but in a very natural sounding/discreet way (and who doesn't) I heartily recommend this plugin

the best plug in
was a bit skeptical about tape saturation plug-ins. My friend said it was making a huge improvement to his mixes so I bit the bullet and bought the Oxide Tape Recorder plug-in. I have to say this plug-in is the difference maker. Its the biggest single improvement I have done to my mixes. The demo videos I have watched don't do it justice.
I highly suggest everyone to try this out and hear for yourself what magic it can do to you mixes.
Thanks

Brilliant!
I'd read so much about the UAD platform and especially about these plugins. Blown away!! Incredible character and depth. Dialing in a good sound is extremely easy. Instantly rendered all other emulations of this plugins I had useless. Now I want to record real drums just to be able to use the Rev E on the OH bus!! Excellent purchase!!!

the best
+Brad Kinder The DSP usage is needed because they emulate as accurate as possible so that eats a lot of power. The issue is that the UAD2 DSP chips are 10 years or so old. UAD should urgently come out with a new board. Analog Devices - the DSP manufacturer - now have new SHARC DSP's with dual cores and at higher clock speeds so UAD could easily tripple their power on a new Octo card. Honestly I don't understand how UAD even dare to sell a 1 DSP chip board. That's totally ridiculous. An Octo board isn't even enough to make a track with all UAD plugs.

Easy to Use and Great Sounding Tape Emulation
The Oxide Tape Plug in is a really intuitive, easy way to add a variety of character to both mono and stereo tracks.
It can be subtle or aggressive and it pretty dsp friendly. Works great on the stereo bus!

Very Good!
実機も使ってましたが、それと比べてもとてもよく出来ていると思う。

This Plugin Is AWESOME on the drum bus......
So far I've been trying this on everything and have found it to be extremely beneficial for drum busses or individual tracks. It doesn't sound bad by any stretch of the imagination on anything else I've tried it on; I just really, really like what it does for the drums. Nice, Fat and Clear.

This upgrade it was what I was looking for for match even close the original. Using on various instruments, and is in every mix bus I use.
Perfect.

Because Demo?
Running a demo on the 224 vs the EMT 140 and 250. In all honesty I was sold on the 224 (EMT's are too 80's for more taste) until I found that inherent system noise, what a racket! I scanned the plug-in, and selected the system noise button (SYS NOISE) but nothing happened. I read through the manual and it even states this button should take out the inherent noise, making a cleaner sound. UA, please tell me this is just the demo version, although I would not understand why. Gave it an additional star because it does sound so dang good! Incredible disappointed i could not remove system noise however.

unique and smooth
It`s truly a Lexicon..
I`m glad to have a original Lexicon PCM 91 DR and love the natural sound and color of it.
Now with The Lexicon 224 emulation on top, I even got more possibilities of unique sound in mixin without loosing the typical Lexicon sound-color than ever before.
ITS LIKE BLUE METH, CRYSTAL CLEAR AND WILL MAKE YOU ADDICTED TO USE ;-))
GREAT digital Reverb emulation!
