It is the best EQ plug-in for a vocal of that I heard
It is very good for mastering. Very much filters - musical, soft were pleasant

I USE THEM ON EVERY SESSION!
Love this version of the 2A! My favorite way to use this bundle is to moderately compress the signal (vocal/acoustic/mandolin/bass) from my apollo to pro tools and record the plugin on the track! Feels better tracking with a little compression! Use this after the 1176 and you have an awesome vocal chain!

LOVE!
Lets just say my Wave's CLA-76 has taken the shelf. I feel like the UA version really colors the audio in a good way! The AE version is my favorite! I find myself using this all the time on my lead vocal.

Great sounding piece of gear!
Dialing in low end with the Pultec sounds fantastic ... retuning a kick drum, getting rid of mud in a bass guitar. The color of the pultec is nice, but keep in mind by default the signal gets boosted around 1.2 db, you'll have to reduce the output to get a fair comparison.

The Mother of All Pultec Plug-ins
Arguably, the greatest thing about the hardware Pultec is its ability to inform your music simply by passing your signal through it. If I was working in a studio that had an EQP-1, I made sure to pass tracks I was recording through it just cause it sounded so darn good. I know of scores of studio-rat buddies who have used that same trick. There is no other plug-in out there that has got that sound of the entire hardware Pultec chain of circuitry, including the essential effect of its amp stages, an aspect of this particular emulation that is unsurpassed in all the other Pultec models out there. Like all UAD plugs, this makes me feel like I own the real thing- for a fraction of the price and no maintenance! You did it again, Folks!

UA does it again!
“The UA Pultec Passive EQ is the best reproduction of the original unit currently available on the market, I know this because I have the actual beast in my rack, and I own all the other plug-ins that try to emulate it. The fact that I can add this plugin to my track without making any adjustments and hear a harmonic and tone improvement speaks volumes to the carefully crafted, flawless reproduction of the original unit.”

New Pultec Plug Ins
The Legacy Pultec collection was my favorite Pultec emulation out on the market. However, that's all changed now. The Passive EQ collection certainly surpasses it. There is more size and tone to the sound. The inclusion of the HLF is something I wanted for years. It seems that with everyone wanting LoFi recordings with lots of character i can never get enough radical telephone filtering type devices that restrict bandwidth and add enough color.

Legacy Pultecs sounded good, but these ... !
I was Mastering a record in Logic and I had the Legacy Pultecs on virtually all the tracks. Exactly amidst this project the Pultec Collection was released and I gave it a try. The material was very dense and rich in harmonics, so the color and effect of these plug-ins were all evident straight away!
The legacy sounded good, but next to these, they sound candy-like! Amazing

Absoulutly Monsterious !!! Pultec Passive Collection
Absoulutly Monsterious !!! Thanks UA you've done it again and I love how you've revised this classic and vital piece of gear. With all the warmth and caracter I would expect from the real things you've really nailed it down to the finest details. It's things like these reissues of "classic collections" that confirm I've gone the right way with using UA's stuff.
Excellent !! Stunning !! Empowering !!!

Positively Pultec
I thought the (now) Legacy Pultec Pro plugin was great, but it has now been surpassed. It is now fairly rare when I have plugins other than UA in my session.
I would love to see a EQP 1a3 emulation now :)

Studio One support
I haven't used the Pultec Pro yet.
Just wanted to comment on J. Battel's review below. I use Studio One Pro v2.5. Works just fine. I have a UAD 2 Quad PCI card. Zero problems... great investment.

Sonic update? Yes!
Great update - defo adds extra dirty crunch to the sound. IMHO best 1176 out there (three of them!) Eats a lot more DSP but worth it.

Lovely upgrade
Very much anticipated - and did not disappoint. On the contrary this upgrade is worth every penny.

2nd review after more than a year of use.
When I compare the sound of audio today to 15 years ago, it seems a lot dryer, reverb tails are much shorter but the audio itself seems much more robust, multilayered and hard hitting. Back when the hardware Lexicon 224 was new, those long reverb tails were part of the culture of music. Snare drums, lead vocals etc. The way we are mixing is always changing. I don't necessarily use reverb to create long tails. I use reverb by aux bussing certain elements of the mix through the Lexicon and placing them behind the audio by using the pre-delay and depth controls. The Lexicon 224 is still my choice reverb for this task due to the fact the unit is so easily eq'd and so rich sounding. Really adds a nice thick and supportive layer.
