What a difference to the legacy. Not that the old is obsolete but the larger DSP consume you can hear it clearly. Much less distortion or lets say sonically better sounding one. Warm, clear, loud. Not without reason its the record finishing mastering compressor for decades.
Best now is the sidechain filter. Now its able to switch in much less compression on low end.

Having used the UA 1176 hardware and a number of 76 clones I must say this plugin is a beast!! Very true and faithful digital representation of the real thing, for the money it's an absolute no-brainer!

This really is a work of art. You took the holy grail and digitized it. It behaves like a real Fairchild. I love the 660 on so many sources. I truly recommend adding this plug to your collection.

I very much enjoy what this trio does. Each version of the LA-2A has it's own distinct character. Each one is extremely musical. It's great on just about anything. When you get to this level of quality it's not so much a question anymore of whether it's good or not, but rather what kind of colors or flavors you want in your mix.

If it sounds good, it is good.
It doesn't matter if you have the real thing or not anymore. In fact I'd rather have a maintenance-free plugin than a huge, space-taking machine that you have to feed with expensive tape and pour money into to keep tip top shape. I love real analog gear as much as anybody, but seriously if you're not swimming in cash none of the great stuff is accessible. This plug makes the ATR-102 accessible to me and even if it's not actually sitting here taking up space in my apartment, it sure sounds like it is. Nobody but gear heads care what your signal went through. It just needs to sound good. So do yourself a favor, get this plug and start throwing it on your master buss.

Thanks to the parents whoever they were, this child is really fair ! I haven't had the chance to meet the real brother but this plugin really sounds good. Depending on the situation whether soft or hard, it's always pleasant. I don't know if the MIX buttons where part of the hardware version but I find them very useful for upward compression, thanks a lot !

Really impressive...
Did a few mixes with it from the beginning on the master fader. It is a little bit scary what this plug in does for the whole mix in the end. You have to check it out.
