As expected, great stuff
Nothing can be added that someone before me has already said. Great product and better than any of the other mainstay plug versions of these compressors. Worked for years with hardware versions of these and do these sound like those, you might ask. No, not exactly, but non of the hardwares sounded exactly the same either. I remember stacking 3 different 1176s for a/b in a studio and even though 2 where very close in serial number, they sounded different. I do think these may sounds quite similar to the hardware version UAD used for reference.

I only wish it had a parallel/mix control
and I know that's not on the original, but a mix control would be so nice to have. I have another dbx160 plugin that has the mix control, but this one has the punch and smack more like a real hardware unit. so for now I just have to setup a parallel bus when I want that kind of control. Overall really great sounding (love it on drums or bass guitar). Give me the mix control and then I'll give 5 stars! heck maybe even 6!

My friend has the hardware Manley VoxBox and we did a comparison.There's no way you could expect the software to be the same but its 90% there.For the price difference its a no brainer,plus,i can have as many as my DSP allows.A game changer when used with the Apollo 8p which allows you to print while tracking.

It is bundled with the 1175ln in the uad plug-in essential purchase item. It is too soft and too thick. I use it with the enhancer.

I have not tried lexicon 224. However, the classic effect seems to have exceeded the level of repetition. Repeating to noise.

Game Changer.
I used other tape saturation plug ins in the past but this one sounds incredible once you just put it on your tracks. Easy to operate and it gives your sounds new life and kind of analog glue. Now I am working on not over using this stuff on everything. Believe me it's not esasy :) Essential tool for Music produced in your DAW !

Es macht einfach Spass den API auf Gitarre oder eine Drum Spur zu legen. Beim Vergleich zwischen A und B Quelle möchte man den Einfluss des API nicht mehr missen.

Nice Saturation.....
I own the Ampex and the Studer and I demoed this just to see if it was worth having. I can honestly say that it is a worthy addition - its great having a few less options than the Studer when looking for some straight forward tape emulation - especially nice on synths and keys - definitely a good by.
