Amazing tone box!
I've been revisiting the 176 because it's made such a difference putting it on submixes and the master bus. The trick is to mess with the HR so you get the right balance of tone and compression. If you normally reach for the Fairchild plugin, use this!

I put this one in a send-bus and let varying amounts of the guitars and drumtrack (made in Logic, and exported to LUNA :-) thru it. Great!

Just plug in a guitar and use only this plugin in Unison and play around with the knobs. Great fun!

This has become a total game changer on my mix bus. I previously used a different plugin which is very popular, but for me this has a different vibe that really suits my mix style and production. Top marks yet again UA!!!!!!!

Go to for bass DI
I use this on every bass (even vst bass sounds). It helps just smooth things out when you go light on it or you can even get tones from it when squashing just like the hardware. This is not like other software compressors that when you go hard it sucks the life out of your source. On the contrary it helps breathe life into a lot of my tracks and helps give them a liveliness that is often missed in the digital world.

I put this on next to everything. If I’m in Luna I literally out this on everything. I love putting it on buses even on default settings because it just helps everything sit together nicely. Which is something that I was seriously lacking and having trouble with before this and other UA plug-ins.

I wrote this off originally because I received it with a promo when I purchased my twin X and when I finally tried I couldn’t believe it. I’ve since demoed most of the unison preamps and I can honestly say this is top 5 for me for vocals.

Turn the intensity of chorus all the way down and it just has a beautiful, subtle lushness that doesn’t take over the source.

I don't think you can make the US Fairchild sound bad. To my ears, UA plugins are a cut above all others.

To be honest, o thought this was for rock. Just the sound shen you turn it on is nice. I have the B M , but this sounds much richer.

Best digital analog, hands down
Took some time comparing UAD's offering to Softube's (both highly acclaimed), I have to say I prefer UAD's taste - slightly less wild, but also less digital artifacts which equals to easier sitting in a mix. Nicely done!
