Incredibly smooth compression even at high ratios
With other emulations of the 1176 units, there is a tendency to lose high frequency information and compression smoothness when compressing at higher ratios or higher gain reduction. The UAD emulation is incredibly smooth even at maximum reduction and 'British Mode' activated, and maintains that high frequency information which is essential for records to really shine!

Great Emulation
Very versatile. So close to the original that it makes it a museum piece. We would all love to have one, but the maintenance free plugin is all that and so much easier!

One of a kind
Very unique sounding unit. Awesome compressor, useful eq. Not so much of a fat sounding unit like a lot of other stuff. It's more airy and hifi with clear contours.

GREAT JOB UAD!!
I've been using the Slate VTM for years now. VTM gave my mixes depth and a nice dose of glue. While VTM worked and does its job I still felt my mixes lacked the warmth. I've Oxide was the answer!!! It's quick and easy and doesn't tax the DSP. I feel like I've found the flavor my mixes was lacking!!!

"LA-2A Save My Day"
I have recently strayed away from using the Silver and Grey Faces and what a mistake that was. Coming back reminded me of how easy it is to dial it in and just move on. I had spent an hour trying to dial-in a Bass... So, I went to the LA-2A... I was done. It was punchy, even and bright. WOW. DONE! Lesson.....Use your LA-2As. Get em' if you don't have em. REALLY!!! LA-2A are a must, must have. - GILROY

It's...The "WHIPPED CREAM ON TOP EQ"
I actually A/B'd just about every EQ Plug with scopes and white/pink noise too. AND after all my sonic ear testing...SHE WON! The Massive Passive is so silky on top, it's your Whipped Cream On Top EQ! I really don't think there's 40k AIR in some others... You A/B and let me know what you think. Really great sound. - GILROY

The BEST UAD Plugin - Hands down!
If you had to buy just one UAD Plugin, i would highly recommend the LA-2A. What this does to the sound is magical! UAD have truly captured a magic vibe and this works like a treat in bass, vocals and synth lines, making them bigger and fatter like you never heard before. It has a simple yet effective gain/peak reduction simple interface, which is so easy to use. It has ''that'' sound. You can't go wrong with the LA -2A!

The 1176 is a classic piece of gear for a reason. I find that the legacy 1176 to be excellent, but this Mk II really take the emulation to the next level. Don't demo this if you don't want to buy it. Consider yourself warned!
