Functional Heft and Easy parallel compression
While I have not been able to work with a real Fairchild to compare, I recognize the sonic character these units contribute to many classic rock recordings. Having multiple virtual units to work with is quite fun, as each real unit is at least a few grand, if not 20.
My favorite thing about this plug in, beyond the amazing sound, is the built-in wet/dry control, which makes parallel compression easy to use sparingly on individual tracks.
I'm enjoying it on drums, bass, GUITARS, vocals, synths, and it's a go-to mix tool now.
Very receptive to tweaking and feel, especially with the subtle DC and headroom controls, and the 660 is great for mono sources.

Really goog plugin.
I Don't know the harware, but for me, it's Just the vision I needed ;).
I Test iT on a bus horns in a mix and it's give dem presence with no aggressivity.
On drums, perfect.
In the unsisson mode ( first time I try this fabolous new way of work ), I put in on a acouctic guitar, really nice but carefull with the hi endz.

cool plugin
never owned the real unit but i can compare it to some of the other plugins on the market. This one comes out as more real than the rest. I def dont regret the purchase!

API Vision Channel Strip
This plug in works well. Many of the presets are great places to start depending on your specific needs, then very easy to adjust to taste. Lots of flexibility for various applications.

Best plugin I've ever owned!
It's just great. So clear and detailed. it really gives you the feel of analog sound,
the gate works perfectly and it's great on snare and bass drums! The compressor is outstanding but never invasive, great on overheads and drums. the Eq sounds amazing!
perfect to shape every instrument and make them stand out of the mix!
But the real thing is.. try to mix a whole song with the Vision Channelstrip and and then compare it with any other of your work!! You won't believe it!

I'm very happy with this plugin. It's my go to plugin for Drums Bass Acoustic Guitars some vocal stuff. I've been very happy with the results! Great job UA!

Add the 1A with default settings and it imparts a very pleasing, saturated tone to the overall sound of a mix without disturbing EQ. Of course there are many other uses but I really like this so much, I use it on everything now.

Impressive
Of course, I read the reviews before purchasing the LA-2A collection, of course it encouraged me to purchase it, of course I was confident knowing the extreme quality of UA products, of course I'm not a pro, neither mastering engineer nor HFO, of course one could considere that I'm not sufficient an expert to write a review, of course I never used the hardware equivalent BUT what I can tell you is that with these plugins, my music sounds soooooo well! so, what else?

Definitely a must have in the arsenal, it helps to add that desired character, punch and cut through the mix sweet compression that my tracks love!

really great hardware reference
the MP is probably my favorite hardware unit ever, and i'm fortunate to have periodic access to one (periodic being the operative word). does this plug replace it? no, but it's close. if you take it just as an eq plug without direct comparison to the hardware it's wonderful, if a bit cpu hungry, but given that UA did a great job modeling the way the units curves behave and interact i use it to set up busses in my mixes intending to later be bounced through the hardware without having to go back, tweak, and re-render so many times when things build in a band. still, even when i never get around to that (it happens) the emulation still sounds fab in a final mix

Lexicon 224 Review
I have had a good 3-4 years doing some score work at a studio that has a hardware Lexicon 224. When I first started using it, I found it to be harsh and unnatural. then I realized that its more of a Aux effect than a insert.
UAD did a excellent job on this plug in. I actually called up some of my old drum mixes, which I had done with the hardware and compared it to some of the sounds I'm getting now. Spot on! Like most UAD plug ins, even if the hardware was sitting on top of my mixing desk, I'd would likely just go with the plug in.
Highly recommend this to any that have experience with this unit. Again this isn't your "workhorse" reverb that you can use on everything but it does what it does very well!
