Use it for subtle coloring
I use it an all mono sources (not busses) just to get that "feeling/sound". It works and adds some really magic bottom end! (i tested it with flipped phase bounces and it works really nice)

I would, sound wise, give 5 stars, It’s an awesome plugin, the Sound of it is amazing and I love all of the functions, but!
The CPU Usage/performance must be updated,
I understand it’s the first official version, so I’ll guess there will be an update at some point.
It would have been awesome if the initial version had a better performance. Less CPU usage. It’s really heavy on the CPU.
Anyway, it’s an awesome plugin, I’m looking forward to a performance update!

Worth every penny
I’ve been mixing for 15 years and have always tried to stay away from uad or 3rd party plugins because things need to sound good during recording. This is still true , but a good compressor and reverb will always be a necessary part of the mixing process. After demoing the la2a and 1176 because they were on sale , I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Finally a compressor that enhanced the sound, not just tamed it. I got the bundle and found myself mixing in Luna shortly after, which is in itself groundbreaking for ITB mixers to stop fussing about plugins and just get straight to mixing. I highly recommend anyone to simply try the demos , both plugins and Luna. No video or review will convince you otherwise

Awesome sound. Not so awesome power requirements
Using this in my 2016 MacBook Pro...yes it's a little outdated, but I should be able to use the plugin on at least 2 tracks at the same time without maxing out my CPU. UAD, this is an amazing plugin, but I feel like it's almost reserved for the users with high end computers. Please fix this in some way to make it easier on the CPU so we can use it reasonably!

Does it pass the blindfold test against the hardware? Oh yes....
I used to regularly hire the actual hardware Massive Passive to finish my mixes back in early to mid 2000's ..... I know the original unit well. This emulation is ridiculously good and an accurate rendition of the original.... I called the original hardware the "silk machine" . This plug-in allows you to impart the same subtle luxurious definition in the low frequencies without overwhelming the mix, and a trademark gossamer sheen - "air" - around the top end. The "silk" metaphor especially applies to the magic this EQ imparts to vocals. Purchase with high expectations and you wont be disappointed.

Better gear doesn't necessarily mean your work will instantly sound better, but with UAD you know the quality will always be ready for you to craft the perfect mix.

Another UPLIFT, MOJO enhancer
I already owned one of the other tape plug-ins, but this one has more options, especially in changing the tape types. It takes up the same amount of processing power, so no advantage there, but still. You don't need all the tape plug-ins, you can go with this one if you want a few more options, but the other, slightly cheaper one, could also work.
Whether I put it on some instruments/tracks, or on the master track, it does what it's supposed to, which is give me more options to fuse the sound of the whole thing and uplift the tune and its mojo just that bit more...

I am a big fan of room sounds. Sold my Apollo Sound Cards few months ago. The Ocean Way Studio Plugin was my favorite and i still miss it. Until today! The Sound City is not the same like Ocean Way, but i love it. Very versatile and sounds awesome. Thank to the Spark Subscription i can use this plugin and with my Audient Interface. Well done Universal Audio

Fantastic EQ.
Having different flavors of EQ is really important to me. This being my first experience with API, I was trilled with the unique sound of this emulation. And the fact that it's native means that I can actually use it. Highly recommend.
