Sounds amazing! Way better than VoxBox IMO
I was reluctant to demo initially since I have the VoxBox plugin and never use it, but this preamp sounds way better to me, especially with the transformer on. The top is smooth but with more detail than the 1084; the mids are foward and very pleasing on my voice; and the bass is thumpy and super full, which can be rolled off if necessary. I also find myself using less plugins in the chain to color the signal, so it's a great DSP saver. Absolutely demo this preamp!

if you have Voxbox you don't need this
I have the Manley Voxbox. This should be free for Manley Voxbox owners.

Excellent!
Smooth and clean, just what you'd expect from a Manley preamp. Highly recommended.

Top 1176
I have tried emulations from different companies. I recently purchased Apollo and was able to get a feel for the uaudio variants. I have not heard the original devices, but I can say for sure that the uad versions sound the best to my ear. The desired sound is obtained faster, they sound musical, pleasant saturation. In old projects I tried to replace 1167 from other manufacturers and was pleasantly surprised how the sound of the overall picture changed for the better.

Simple
Love how this pre shapes the sound. Tight and contained bass, less low mids without sounding thin or shrill.

My favorite!
All I can say is I was inspired to get the real deal because of this plug in I loved it so much!! Something I always wanted! If you can buy the real one cool but the plug in does a great job on emulation and UAD is in my opinion the best at this!

Musical chorus
Deep musical chorus modulation. Sounds amazing on guitars. Sounds good on backing vocals, on synthesizers, which are responsible for the texture plan. Vibrato sounds musical and pleasant.

Get back the old design!
Please return the old design! The new one doesn't look like the real thing. Difficult to perceive visually. In the old one, it was immediately clear which ratio button was pressed. It's hard to see in the new. The visual perception of the new design is worse.

Probably the best Chorus I have ever used.
Tried the Brigade Chorus pedal yesterday and I am very happy to say that its better than any other digital chorus I own (and I have many). Its already my go to chorus. No need for outboard gear in the studio when you have this.

This should be free for the owners of Voxbox
Like Neve and Api, this is absolutely absurd, why should I pay for a portion of a Voxbox? Shouldn't it be free for the already owners? Like the Neve 1084 for the 1073 owners? I don't get it.

Nice and Neat
Simple but lacking nothing. I’d love to have a mid control but that’s not common in plates anyways.

Smoothest Compression Plug I Know
Back in the 90s I was interning at a studio in midtown Manhattan where an La-2A sat at the bottom of the rack. The young in house engineer never touched it but one day an older gentleman was mixing an album there and turned that lonely La-2A on. I had absolutely no idea what it did so I asked him and he just said, "Its butter." LOL
He ran some bass through it, getting 2-3dBs of compression. He told me to sit in the engineers seat and listen while he bypassed the unit on and off. The difference was subtle but noticeable and dearly missed when bypassed. A few days later we recorded vocals and ran all of them through the La-2A. The vocals were being compressed 5-10dB and it sounded magical. Now almost 30 years have passed and I own this plug but plan to purchase the UA re-issue in 2022.
This plug in is really close to the hardware in that it captures the warmth of the hardware but its not as smooth when you start to get into the 5dBs and more of compression range. Don't get me wrong, when I want the smoothest plug compression, this is the one I reach for. It captures that harmonic warmth I remember from that lonely hardware unit that sat at the bottom of the rack back in the day. I use this on vocals for every song. Its the last in the chain and most of the time its a mere 1-2 dBs of compression that I'm going for. Its a gentle hug or "butter" as that visiting engineer explained. The plug falls short once you get into that 5 dB compression territory where you can start to hear it. The hardware is transparent. Thats why I'm giving this 4 out of 5 stars but honestly, for the price, this plug is amazing but I have to be honest, that hardware unit was truly magical and once I do get it in my studio, it will go to the top of the rack where it belongs.

Um, hello gorgeous!!!
the moment I tried this plugin, was the moment I knew I needed it, This thing is so incredible, and totally puts me in a different head space. It is so LUSH, thats kinda the only way I could describe it. its perfect. I am not a huge chorus guy but when you just need a little "specialness' it seems to be just what is needed. Stoked!!!!

Awesome
I got this free thinking I wouldn’t use it and I like it more than the Neve 73
