Chorus in bass track
Love how it gives movement to the bass, great plug in!

File under "it just sounds good"
Whether for tracking or post, this plugin is dynamite. Subtle or extreme, it adds feel and color with that hard-to-define "analog warm-yet-punchy". Don't be shy about using the defaults, but also definitely pop the cover and learn the tweaks. Love the gang mode as well for tracking or applying across a mix in post.

Essential piece, amazing sound, faithful to the real thing
One demo and I was ready to buy this. By far the best EL8DC software I've ever heard. A colorful, easy to use utility everybody should have. Thank you UA and Empirical Labs!

Absolutely stellar
If you're already familiar with these devices or other emulations, dive right in. If you're not, spend some time with the 5-minute tips channel and discover what you're missing. Indispensable for tracking and mixing!

What a surprise
I have bought way to many reverbs the past four years so I could allow my self to buy into these UAD products for a while, but a few months ago I finally took a chance buying a uad-2 duo card in order to try the UAD Lexicon 224, because I wasnt perfectly satisfied with my previous reverbs which I did my best to sound like a Lexicon 224 which were one of my goal for a reverb. By reading forum discussions about lexicon 224 type reverbs and other reverbs for that matter I didnt come to any conclusion, so I started buying the reverbs with the lowest price tags and went on from there - but after trying the UAD Lexicon 224 I finally got the exacts reverb sound that I wanted. UAD Lexicon 224 and Native Instruments RC24 are probably the only two reverbs that I need for my kind of ambient music. When I get more used to UAD Lexicon 224 I might not need the RC24 anymore. Nor do I need all my Lexicon 224 impulse responses or 224 presets of my other reverbs in order to get the right Lexicon 224 sound. Yes, I like long reverbs. It is so easy to use UAD Lexicon 224. Most of the faders make sense to me, which is not the case with most of my other reverbs, so I dont even need to use presets with this one. I also love sound of the Valhalla Vintage Verb and ValhallaRoom, but I cant figure out the knobs of Valhalla reverbs and dont want to read the manuals, so I just used presets and that does not do it for me personally anymore. If you are looking for a reverb sound of the early 80s with long decay times and nice halls and want to be able to adjust the reverbs a little bit with ease then look no further. It truely sound excellent. This reverb is a surprise to me, because I already had similar reverbs and other high quality reverbs and because I read on a forum that some other guy was not that happy with spending money on this product, but I must say that I disagree with his comment.

INSERT ON VOCALS..
Alright?. I really only like plugins the same way i like hardware. To do something. Like the few not the many i'm lucky and old enough to have used most of the classics. With so much tape saturation choices around i did a demo of this then purchased. I was working on an album that had extremely close deep male vocals, a bit Johnny cash like. I used an Avantone c12 clone. Really, if you want a c12 clone for under 700 this is the mic...The delivery of the vocals were impeccable but....I wanted the talent to really hear everything in there headphones so he could totally commit to every word. So if he has to commit so do i. First insert was the 1176 just to control the input into the Oxide. Then at 7ips i could drive the Oxide pretty hard and print that. The results were stunning. He was pretty much eating the mic . The whole process of setting up the small chain was around 15 minutes. Interestingly the Oxide was really was erratic with how the vocals were delivered. Unison, harmony, odd, gold. What really turned me on was the vocals were performed with only acoustic guitar and in the next 2 weeks a string quartet, trumpets, bass and a live brush drum set were added. And throughout that whole period the vocal level remained at the point it was when recording it. Thus, this is a good plug i recommend it, but i also recommend making sure you have a vocal that delivers. With out that nothing will save you.

Can’t live without ‘em
I’ve used real 1176 compressors, and these things do exactly what they’re designed to do. Everything sounds better through an 1176. The AE is great on vocals, literally a game changer. After years of using hardware, I’m convinced that the old studio model has been rendered obsolete by these UA plugins.

Worth the upgrade
Definitely worth the upgrade. I have a lot of UAD comps and these are especially good. Love the buttons in combos.

Great emulation of an industry standard
I own the original, and this comes very close! I love the addition of the dry/comp dial - just like on the eL9. Really useful on kit and and bass guitar - it's my go to for these instruments. The distortion section adds that little extra crunch on bass guitar that I love:) Very happy with it.

Excellent Compressor!
Love it. Initially bought it for a mix bus comp but I keep finding more and more uses for it. Can be very subtle or juicy - I use it in almost every session!
