BV saver...
It is great for so many different tasks but nothing rescues a weak backing vocal as quickly and easily this can...

The pedal is emulated so well in this plug-in version that I have official retired my original...

Excellent
This one sounds great on everything! It sounds just like the original. I use it more than RE-201 which is also a great classic delay and echo plugin. Thanks UA!

Good Easy Controls But Still Takes Same DSP as A800
I appreciate the simpler controls on this tape emulation but I am disappointed that the DSP is still pretty high and appears to be the same as the Studer A800. I loaded 4 tracks of this and the DSP load was identical to what 4 tracks of A800 were.

My Favourite Plugin for Colouration
I bought this Plugin for only 50 bucks in the Magnetic Tape Month. I love the coloration of the Plugin. A few days ago I used it on a solo Voice and it adds a really nice Character. To Eq and Compress the Voice to my satisfaction was easier for me than without the Plugin.
I demoed and like the other Plugins like Studer or Ampex also very much but I never bought them because they vere to expensive for me. Also the CPU hit caused by Oxide is not so high which helps me to handle up to 6 Devices with my Solo Card.
So thank you very much for the Magnetic Tape Month and this new Plugin! :)

Multi-dimensional space! Best Roland Dimension D emulation!
I loved the old Roland Dimension D for years and I was so happy that UAD nailed the sound of it. With the UAD Studio D you can give an instrument another dimension from subtle to wide without too much modulation effects compared to the other typical chorus units. It allows you to transfer an instrument to a complete other dimension away from the rest of the stereo mix. So for mixing it became a really great tool for me. Can't live without it!
(Rem: If somebody looks for a more typical stereo chorus with heavy modulation and thickness I would recommand the UAD Brigade Chorus or the TAL-Chorus-LX or the Sknote DDD more.)
PS: I would like to see UAD may bring out other legendary chorus units too (e.g. TC electronic 1210, Roland CE-300 etc.

Easy Pleasey
I'm a long time Slate VTM user, and before that, Waves Kramer Master Tape. I've been finding myself using Oxide as a subtle Comp and EQ plug just as much as a tape emulator. Stick it on the first insert, tweak, and be prepared to suddenly feel like the track is sitting well without any more plugs. I still use the VTM, but Oxide has crept into a close 2nd. Who knows, by next month it could be my go to.....

My Favorite
I have a dozen or so different choruses but this one seems to work the best in a mix. I even us it live (on a effects bus). Great for fattening up guitars and vocals, keyboards or whatever. The Roland D is my go to when I have the option of using my uad-2.

Getting this from you guys at UAD, is the cherry on the cake. Im impressed by the sound quality as always. A great plugin to have for producing multiple genres.

Scrape the tape
A no nonsense tape saturation for cheap. It does enough to get that warmth and magic. The Studer and Ampex plugs might give you a little more parameters but this does the job without all the mess. Basically, does what you want it to do.

Just noticed there is no difference in sound with Dimension D
Seems UAD is releasing non-branded versions of the Roland plugins with less realistic GUIs, so I'm posting a followup review with 5 stars instead of 4. It would have been helpful if UAD had sent an announcement about why this is happening instead of mysteriously sending out new plugin licenses and not telling anyone why.

From Nostalgia To WAY Beyond COOL !
I bought one in the late 70's and have always regretted trading it for something NOT AS GOOD, ... Up until now !!!
Thank you UAD for bringing this back.
This Galaxy Tape Echo is so musical, it should be called an instrument, a self-oscillating beast ! ... HA !
It always ends up as an integral part of the track performed, not an added delay or reverb FX !
That is when you know you are bringing in something way cool, when you bypass it and the flavor (or feedback) stops !
Fantastic recreation UAD ! Great work, as usual !
So glad you and Roland are together ?again? ... (however that worked out) !

Isn't this practically identical to Dimension D?
I'm more excited about Brigade Chorus than I am about this plugin for two reasons. The D choruses are not as mono-compatible as Brigade; however, they are more true to the source material. I'm a big fan of Dimension D. I'm struggling to understand why UA released a copy of its own plugin outside of ditching the Roland branding. They sound nearly identical, but I prefer Dimension D over Studio D for subtle sound and aesthetic differences. Congratulations on knocking off your own plugin, UAD. This doesn't provide any noticeable improvement like the LA and 1176 compressors did for their respective UA predecessors, so I find myself a miffed by this offering. But hey, it sounds great.

Tastes like manna from heaven. Mind = blown.
Chorus is notoriously difficult to use in abundance without major correlation (phase) problems. This plugin just blew my mind in a test for mono compatibility. This may be my new go-to chorus effect. It has a beautiful analog tone and saturation as well as in impressive width. It sounds good in Classic and Dual Mono modes. Classic mode seems to pass the source to one side and the modified sound to the other, while Dual mono is a gorgeous modern full-bodied effect. I am REALLY impressed with this plugin, which is saying a lot considering the number of chorus plugins available.
