I you don't have it - get it
I've been using other emulations of the Pultec EQ but this one is kind of diffrent in a good way. You cant mess it up with this EQ Collection. Great stuff.

Great Compressor
This fairchild compressor sounds amazing... once you get a handle of the time constants the sky is the limit !!!
.
Handy
Punchy.. Even works on mix bus in some situations.. Strange but cool
.
Perfection. Way better than the Legacy versions.
Currently a favorite compressor plugin of mine.

1176 Limiter
Simply, great. Is my first option with almost everything.
With my electric guitar, it push it with the right touch.
Excelente with my fender jazz bass. Both guitar and bass, are pre amplifier with an external preamp (similar neve 1073) and then i plug into the line of my apollo.
The performance is great! i am very happy with the result.
Great work

Great Sound. Would love an updated GUI.
Ok, the GUI is only about looks when a client sees the screen. The labels are clear and the plugin functions perfectly. I was surprised that even with the LA2A, 1176, Fairchild, and LA3A, that I would need another compressor. But this has a nice punch for bass and snare. It is also easy to use and really quick. For the price on sale, I couldn't pass it up.

Get it
It does not sounds slightly "flat" compared to hardware 1176's i've used but its still good enough not only to make stuff sit in the mix but to actually improve sounds which is more than I can say for any other 1176 clone i've listened to. If you only do mixing and already own a few hardware originals and don't have any use for the flexibiliy of a plug-in you might get by without this one. But this is a awesome sounding tool and its so well rounded (equal quality but works for a lot more sources than la2a and fairchild imo) so for everyone else, get it!

Essential for all UAD users
Significant upgrade to the legacy versions. I have 3~4 other 1176 plugins including Waves, NI and BF, but the UAD versions are my favorite. I also get to use the actual hardware in various studios: I've compared the plugin to Purple's MC77, UA's 6176, and Warm Audio's WA76 (I've been able to use the classic Urei models a couple times, but haven't been able to compare them to the plugin). Half the time I can't even tell the difference once it's tucked into a mix instead of solo'd, and the rest of the time it at least responds like I'd have wanted the hardware to. Good job at making it sound and respond like the hardware, and good job at making this essential in my toolbox.

First insert
Put this on your first insert followed by an ampex, dial according to taste. Your welcome.

Amazing sound and versatility!
I have applied the 1176 compression to vocals, drums, bass and guitars so far and it has blown my mind!!

Punched in the gut
This thing has its time and place and when it's fitting, it fits like a glove...
a glove slapping you in the face with every transient fired.

Recommended!
It's fantastic, the way it responses. I've been using the legacy plugin since it was almost created. And this upgrade its totally recommended.

mixed bag
This sounds nothing like waves cla-3a IMO so if they are supposedly modelled upon the same compressor somebody is trekking porkies.
The UA version has a much much shorter attack, can trash most transients in about 3db gain reduction, which at times is perfectly wonderful. The waves version sounds more similar to UA la2a IMO. I own both and use both as they are both different enough, as to accuracy, jury is out

Great Collection
I love this plugin collection. I have a few plugins from other companies that replicate the LA-2A, but these are the best. I like changing up compressors when doing vocals and acoustic guitar (I find using the same compressor on every track makes the mix a little stale), so using a different version of the LA-2A for each track makes the mix sound better. Great work UA!

Analog touch in a digital domain
To me the Fairchild Tube Limiter Plug-In Collection adds (while mastering) an analog vibe to the digital mix. When mixing I use this plugin on certain channels or instruments. With the Fairchild Tube Limiter Plug-In Collection my set up is complete for the mixing & mastering process.

Il mix,il sidechain e ... Gran compressore
Ottimo il poter decidere il wet della compressione con tanto di sidechain sulle basse ... Ideale su pianoforti e chitarre! Sempre più contento di utilizzare UAD.
Una marcia in piú!

Bang on!
There are some amazing plugins out there. But, this really takes the crown for most realistic 1176!! I can't speak for the REV A and AE versions because I have limited experience with the real units. I do, however, own 2 Urei 1176 Rev E units. I've done extensive A/B tests on all sorts of different material. I really can go as far as saying that they nailed the sound. The plugin reacts exactly like my hardware units. Crazy! This is a most buy for any UAD owner.

the classics
Really a no brainer! Sound great and you have 3 classics in the studio for 300 dollars.

Saturation
We have this exact tape machine at work. The plug-in sounds exactly like it or, if you want, totally different. I prefer the ability to change settings on a plug-in rather than commit to a specific real tape recording. My favourite preset is "Cassette"....seriously saturated.
