So useful for tracking
This is probably the only plugin I really need when tracking vocals. Reverb is nice but not always necessary, but a little LA2A compression with barely any latency is ALWAYS a good thing.

Simple & Effective
I just bought this plug-in and within minutes of using it on single tracks and the stereo bus, I realized why the dbx 160 is so popular and still regarded as a great compressor. It is so easy to use and has that fantastic, timeless sound. It is simplicity itself: Threshold, Compression and Output. Then there's that 'tried-and-true, old-school' sonic quality to it that most likely is the reason why it still continues to be widely used and is reviewed so favourably. I really like this plug-in. Looking forward to hearing it in action.

Amazing collection
I tested a lot of compressor plugins but this collection is absolutely amazing! You can use these compressors for every kind of stuff and it sounds always awesome. I use them for a few months now and in every project. Great job UAD!

Easy use + great results = LA2A collection
Well, I bought it and love it. I think everything has already been said in other reviews, but I'd just like to second that: Easy to use and easy to get great sounding results - I really like the serial 1176+LA comp 'trick' on vocals and the LA's on bass, overheads and synth/strings.

Ideal for parallel compression
I really like to use 1176 to overcompress a send, I get extra loudness!

The Sound of Music
My main reason for buying a UAD card.
I remember when I was mixing the CD from my old band and, as much as I seek in Eqs that shining cymbals and the resonance of drums, and the bass presence as in my analog references, something was still missing.
After I sent my CD to the mastering, I did received my UAD and a A800 plugin.
Just one insert into the Drum Bus and anoter into Bass Bus.
All that I've searched during all Mixing time was there, at those two reels, to bring to digital domain all the harmonics and sonic sense of What we know as Music.
Today I use it also to my Mastering services, especialy to mix without this sound.
Try all the combinations of tapes and speeds to get the best result for you.

Memories are made of this
I have worked with the hardware for many years, it is still in my ears - and in my fingers, concerning the workflow. When I first tried the plug in, it was like tasting Prousts Madeleine. I immediately recognized the distinctive, noble sound of the Lexicon 224. It is like an instrument on its own. You don't just type in some values - you play with it, with the faders, in a very musical way. And, thanks to the digital domain, without (or even with, if you really want to go old school) the noise of the hardware. Incredible.
Thanks to you people at UAD for preserving the greatest achievements in sound and breathing new life into them. It keeps the palette rich and full of colours.

LUSH!
This is by far one of the best emu reverbs on the market, great work UA

Surprisingly good! But dated GUI.
This is really a good and clean sounding compressor plugin considering that it was released 8 years ago. I have never worked with the hardware unit so I can't say what's missing in this one, but it does a great job. I especially like it in series with another compressor on something like vocals.
The DSP usage is pretty low by todays standard. I fear that an MkII version would be a bit over the top in that regard. But the GUI really needs an update! It's way too tiny on a modern screen and looks really dated.

Different characters for many purposes
My favourite compressor family with different characters and it is really for almost everything in your mix.

Great musical reverb
Great musical reverb, without taking too much space in the mix. I am using it mostly for vocals and creating atmospheres, it can really blend into the original sound naturally. Love it.

Amazing Plug In!!!
A Studer A800 in a plug in on every channel and you're recording to 2" multitrack tape, quite convincingly!!!

Audio Mixer/Engineer
Firstly, I own the Universal Audio 2-1176 hardware unit, and I was left speechless… I was without speech.
This plugin is so versatile, it works brilliantly as both a compressor/EQ all at once.
A very well worth purchase in my opinion.

It may be old, but it sounds better than the new reverbs!
One thing I hate about software reverb plugins is that I have to equalize a lot to make it sound great. This reverb has a nice sound, yet it has a simple EQ on the controller. I love this reverb, and I use it on everything.

UAD Pultecs Can't Get Any Better
These EQs sound so good when I boost and cut that I had to put it on every channel. This led to me purchasing a satellite octo. I want to throw these on every single channel. I purchased other plugin EQs from other companies, and I want my money back. I love UAD. Keep up the good work, and you'll keep getting money from me.

Fantastic compressor
I am using this compressor on all snare channels (Top and bottom mic) and it is doing fantastic work! Very good punchy compressor sound on my snare.

I've never heard anything like it
I realised after buying this plugin how far away I was from truly interesting reverb tails and sounds from the average reverb plugins from the DAW's. This thing has vibe on its own. The tail is absolutely amazing. You can use it for anything from plate reverb to super lush atmospheric stuff. I'm still getting my way around it but I'm really excited about it.
