Great compressors!
Just brought them, but mutch to late I do realise now. Works good for drums and vocals.

Worth updating
I take advantage of a promotion and update the stock LA-2A to this collection and it's worth every penny. Each version has his own character and they sound amazing.

Great Emulation of A Classic
Back in the late 1980's and early 1990's, I had the pleasure of experiencing the real deal 224 XL. This plug brings back memories of the lushness of Lexicon classics. Like the hardware, you have to work it and I would say that this is not the reverb to use if you're looking for easy ambient realism per se. This is an impressionistic reverb with a fingerprint. The included presets are great starting points but it's important to dig in and learn the unit. That's why I give it 4 stars. My experience with the HW was an artist so I never learned the in's and out's of its operation but I'm learning it now and love it. I wouldn't make this my only reverb but it's a must-have for your sonic arsenal.
UAudio does it again! Thanks.

Presence and clarity
There is a very clear sense in this reverb.
And I feel the dense depth.
Really, really, nice.

This and la2a are the best emulations you can find.
For me the best emulations to date.

working great so far
very nice to have side chain filter and mix knobs on this version. More flexible and nice color - can't compare against the actual hardware as I don't own the actual hardware. lol.
Yes I paid a lot less than some other posters in this thread as it was first discounted because I bought the Fairchild legacy model 4 years ago, and also have a coupon (and it was on sale as well). Moral of this story? If you are worried about $50 then wait for the sale and a coupon.
reliability has been great with UAD system in general - this is a quad UAD-2 PCI card and as long as I have paid attention to the supported OSX then I have had no problems. On my older Mac Pro 1,1 I had to not bother with this new one. Now that I have upgraded all is good.

So Good
Such an upgrade from the legacy version. Silky. Smooth. Shockingly close to the original in sound.

The Fez
I started putting the Fairchild on a couple of tracks such as electric guitar, bgs, keys and synths, I find myself placing it on more tracks as the sessions progress. I love the smoothness but sometimes wondered if it was really making that much of a sonic difference until I bypassed it. I really love the sonic glue and sheen.

Essential
Always loved the 1176 sounds that I heard in the studio I worked in. Being able to dial in key sounds (especially with the AE) has been essential to enhancing the sound of my personal studio and has for sure taken my mixes to a higher level.

Great For Drums
This compressor/limiter is great on anything that has a great dynamac rage like drums or bass. Favorite application is on snare drum!

Perfect
Just a perfect emulation of the great hardware. And so much better than the legacy-version of the plug-in.

Best plugin sound available!
This is in a different league to most other plugins / native - it just adds that extra thickness that is so hard to get otherwise!
A+
.
Incredible
I write a lot of techno and this is go to Limiter TOP!!!!!!!

Simple and sweet!
My limiter of choice, you can do so much with them on almost all kind of tracks. My favorite combo is a 1176 in front to squeeze and add some dirt with "all-buttons-IN" and then place the LA-2A in the back of it OR vice versa, put a LA-2A at first to limit and to even out the sound a bit (but only a little bit) and the compress it. Unfortunately I cannot give examples, would be too long for this review box.
Another swiss army knife collection, MUST HAVE!

Oh my dearest Studer :*
I tried the demo and was astonished what is possible with tape saturation.
You can add not only warmth, but shaping e.g. your whole track in every (analog) direction when it comes to rock, stoner, jazz, swing, etc.. I was able to fullfill the dreams of a stonerrock band I recorded which demanded a kind of analog "rolled-of-highs" sound with nice and subtle saturation. And everything without loosing their mojo; the studer added in opposite of this MORE mojo and this is only ONE of the cases I was able to give the musicians what they wanted!

A pack which covers everything!!
If you don´t have the money for this pack, why the heck did you buy a UAD platform? This pack was one of the first I bought and it serves me more than well!!
Every revision has it´s own charakter and in the beginning you have to play around A LOT to find out the one which suits you the best. But I used all of them with great success on everything I mixed and I am really glad having them! Don´t forget to watch tutorials to get the best out of this excellent compressors!!!

Smooth and clear!!!
It´s just WOW when you turn on the highs on the EQ-P1A and THEN roll them off at the same time. This kind of coloration can be only made with this one without harshness and that "plastic" feeling of other kind of derivations of this EQ.
I heard also the hardware and must admit that the UAD version doesn´t lack the deepness of which everyone talks all the time, for me it´s sounds round, full and perfect. GOOD JOB UAD!! :)))
