One of my favorites
The color, attack/release times and high pass filter make this a great piece for a drum buss, bass or vocal. The way it controls the dynamics of the snare is one of my favorite things. It keeps your material tight and controlled while giving you a lot of usable vibe.
I also enjoy using the 660 on vocals, bass and other mono sources. Both the 660 and 670 add great tone and control for what you need. It's also nice that you get the 670 Legacy plug-in with this bundle. It let's you have the Fairchild tone when you may not have the DSP or don't want to use the full plug-in on less important material.
All the presets on this plug-in make it a great overall compressor that's gonna get a lot of use in each session you're running.

Amazing!
I've used the hardware version of this and I can honestly say I can't really tell a difference between it and the software. Universal Audio has bridged the gap between analog and digital that the differences are just too minimal to really notice. Great product and great company!

Pultec try it you'll buy it!
i had the legacy version of the Pultec and was a little sceptical whether the new version could really be any better. Well in short yes! - Sounds even fuller with excellent high end detail. Brilliant on most everything but for me shines on vocals!

Once I put a Pultec across the mix buss I was simply blown away
Also becoming my go-to EQ for vocals, guitars, drums

Great
These have become one of my favorite to add to a number of tracks. They really help make the sound that I go after, and sometimes just merely having them in the chain brings some of that little something extra a life to a mix.

:-( I didn't have $2500 but I had $249 :-)
This reverb is awesome. The classic Lexicon 224 is still around after all these years. The price of the vintage unit is about $2500 or more. The vintage Lexicon 448 can be found cheaper sometimes.
So to have this unit for $249 was an amazing deal but I got it for cheaper with the store voucher coupon. Awesome.

Finally!
I have tried a few other 1176 plugins over the years, and I just couldn`t understand what all the fuss was about. They never really sounded good to me. I have never heard the real thing, but everybody whose heard it raves about it and I couldn`t get any good sounds out of any of them. They just got spiky when you pushed them har.
But now I get it. When I push these plugins hard they get warm and raspy or bright and punchy without getting fizzy or harsh. Good job!

a studio must.
along with the pultec and the 1176 the la2a is a studio must have. these plugin emulations come as close as possible to the real thing. beating out other emulations hands down.

a must
the 1176 is in every studio for a reason. and these uad plugins come a lot closer to the original than any other plugin variation of the 1176. get it. you won't be disappointed.

it's a pultec
having used the original a few times, and owning a few clones. this software emulation comes closer to the original than most other pultec clones i've come across. great job on a classic.

so good.
with so many settings and features, this compressor finds a way into any situation. the warmth and glue of it is 2nd to none.

Almost magical results!
Quite recently I did a project involving the recording of an Iberian Pipe Organ, from the XVI Century. I used a Jecklin disc with two omni small cardioid mics. When listening back the same I found that the sound was quite natural but missing some more crispness. Tried several typical tools including EQ and exciters without success. Then I tried the Studer A800 plugin... Couldn't believe in the results. The non-linearities of the tape just did the trick! It looked like I'd multi-miced the Organ! Such fine detail! And still sounding absolutely natural! If tape alone works out magic, then there are no words to describe this plugin! UAD guys you touched my heart once again! Your plugins are worth every piece of my hard earned cash!

Love that smack!
This is definitely my favorite plugin version of the dbx 160 that's on the market. I especially love it for parallel compression.

as far as plugins go...
must say that i´m very impressed by the warmth this leveler gives my bass track whithout having to tweak to many knobs.
on the other side it gives me the Chance to work the way i like most: load, listen, like it or kick it...
worth every penny...thanks

Great Comps
All these comps sound great. Each has something a little special about them.

My first choice now.
If I can't get the right limiting with this plug-in, then I'm doing something wrong. The 3 units that come with this collection can do what you need. You can squash things a bit without it sounding obvious (SMACK LE, I'm looking at you). I've been forcing myself to use UAD plug-in exclusively in my mixed lately and I'm finding that the end results are miles better than using my previous Waves bundle. I run out of DSP all the time on my Quad but Pro Tools 11's offline bounce/import to session feature makes it a non-issue. I like that I commit my changes faster with UAD. This plug-in collection, along with the Ampex, API Vision, and Pultec collection is all you really need to make a truly amazing sounding recording.

Awesome sound
I've never owned an actual hardware unit, but these compressors have an extremely musical, "big" sound to them, and I feel like the enhance the source rather than degrading it in any way or making things sound smaller, as some digital compressors and emulations seem to do at times. I like to use them for effective but subtle compression on lead vocals, acoustic guitar, guitar groups, backing vocals... A great set of compressor plugins, and if you get them while on sale the value is outstanding
