Almost magical results!
Quite recently I did a project involving the recording of an Iberian Pipe Organ, from the XVI Century. I used a Jecklin disc with two omni small cardioid mics. When listening back the same I found that the sound was quite natural but missing some more crispness. Tried several typical tools including EQ and exciters without success. Then I tried the Studer A800 plugin... Couldn't believe in the results. The non-linearities of the tape just did the trick! It looked like I'd multi-miced the Organ! Such fine detail! And still sounding absolutely natural! If tape alone works out magic, then there are no words to describe this plugin! UAD guys you touched my heart once again! Your plugins are worth every piece of my hard earned cash!

Love that smack!
This is definitely my favorite plugin version of the dbx 160 that's on the market. I especially love it for parallel compression.

as far as plugins go...
must say that i´m very impressed by the warmth this leveler gives my bass track whithout having to tweak to many knobs.
on the other side it gives me the Chance to work the way i like most: load, listen, like it or kick it...
worth every penny...thanks

Great Comps
All these comps sound great. Each has something a little special about them.

My first choice now.
If I can't get the right limiting with this plug-in, then I'm doing something wrong. The 3 units that come with this collection can do what you need. You can squash things a bit without it sounding obvious (SMACK LE, I'm looking at you). I've been forcing myself to use UAD plug-in exclusively in my mixed lately and I'm finding that the end results are miles better than using my previous Waves bundle. I run out of DSP all the time on my Quad but Pro Tools 11's offline bounce/import to session feature makes it a non-issue. I like that I commit my changes faster with UAD. This plug-in collection, along with the Ampex, API Vision, and Pultec collection is all you really need to make a truly amazing sounding recording.

Awesome sound
I've never owned an actual hardware unit, but these compressors have an extremely musical, "big" sound to them, and I feel like the enhance the source rather than degrading it in any way or making things sound smaller, as some digital compressors and emulations seem to do at times. I like to use them for effective but subtle compression on lead vocals, acoustic guitar, guitar groups, backing vocals... A great set of compressor plugins, and if you get them while on sale the value is outstanding

LA-3A
One of the best UAD comps for electric guitars. Perfect for percusive instruments too. Awesome plug-in adaptation.

Smooth Compression for less
I love the transparency of this compressor. When set correctly, even with quite a lot of gain reduction, you cannot hear it working, that is paramount I believe to good dynamics control. Its also lite on DSP power which is fantastic as this compressor is useful more otten than not on numerous jobs in the mix.

Rockin'
This set works great and really makes things sit nicely. The LA-2 is especially great for getting a kind of aggression other compressors just won't do.

What I wanted
It's just what I wanted. That wonderful sound you use to listen in great pro recordings. Thank you :)

Great allarounder!
So far my absolute favorite in the bunch! From punchy vocals to cutting guitars to background vocals, drums room squash and bass compression this plugin does it so natural. Depending on which version one uses there is the opportunity of nice coloring also. +++++

Try it for yourself
The video demonstrations are OK, but not even close to working with this plugin on your own DAW and your own tracks. So try the demo, listen closely, play around, and you will NOT be sorry. I bought within hours of playing around. You won't need 14 days. haha Bought the AMPEX plugin too.

Amazing!
Where are the tubes?. Smooth on bass, clear treble. Great work UAD!. My favorite so far.

My Wonder Wall
Gives that beautiful roundness of a tube every time I put something into it. Nothing is harsh sounding and you just can't get bad sound coming out of it, as long as your recording is good. I've used the hardware version before and astonished to find that it does sound like it. I don't care if it does sound like the original or not, this thing does the job for what you need. Ace, UAD!

Snap!
This gets a lot of snap out of things. It is often exactly what is needed on individual drums and percussion. Also sounds great with picking guitar or anything with a sorta fast action.
It just seems to make things fit comfortably without disappearing.
Great job!

Smooth
You can push these plugs hard and they retain that effortless character the LA2A is renowned for. For $50 a no brainer... 'must haves' for any UAD user.

3 flavours of 1176
The only hw comp I've ever owned was a Urei 1178 which I loved but unfortunately had to let it go. The legacy UAD1176 is good but never really got my juices going like I remember the 1178 used to.
Bring on the updated UAD 1176 collection. For $50 I couldn't resist and imho UAD have done an excellent job modelling the transformer saturation of the hardware. These 3 plug-ins really do sound excellent. Definitely my favourite plug-in compressors... along with the LA2A collection of course!

Excellent
