True sound
I am very pleased with the results of the 1176 from UAD. I liked the very truthful work with attacks, as well as the density and clarity of the sound. The three compressor revisions complement each other perfectly. Plugins from UAD need no introduction, their sound is always at a high level. one of the best emulations on the market
I owned a Mark II (I'm still tearing my hair out for selling it), I own countless virtual versions of the most famous software houses, I own countless hardware emulations (Roland, Yamaha, Nord Stage, Kurzweil) so I know very well what I'm talking about and I can affirm in all honesty that this is one of the best virtual emulations on the market and worth all the money spent.
Especially the effect sound presets are absolutely fantastic.
Like all virtual emulations, however, it's necessary to use an excellent keybed and choose the one that best suits the touch response

Finally found it!
I remember my first encounter with 1176 compressors back in my broadcasting days. They were the "secret weapon" that many radio stations used to get a loud, clean, distinctive sound. To be able to pick up the "three pack" of 1176 plugins was what I had always hoped to be able to do! And the price made it a "home run." All my memories came rushing back the first time I loaded the AE model. They are now my go-to plugins on all projects. It's a perfect example of the old cliche, "What's old is new again!" Love 'em!!

I’ve not seen mixed reviews like this before on a UA plug-in. I kind of understand why. It’s very realistic, lovely to play by itself or with a piano vocal, but in a dense mix it just doesn’t hold. There is too much room even in the close mics. I think I know what the team was going for but they missed the mark on the practicalities of it sitting in a mix. If you you are going to have multi mics you need you close mics to be almost bone dry and snappy to hold up in a full band mix. First UA plug I’ve not given a 5 star….what a bummer. I want to love this…unfortunately I can imagine it’d all need to be rethought and samples re-recorded in order for an update to really help.

The 1176 collection is a must have! These compressors are the closest to the real thing on the market and a workhorse set of tools I use on pretty much every job

A New Level Of Bread And Butter.
i have my Moogs, Oberheims, and all manner of otherly analog soft synths, but this set me on my ear... that the oscillator wave forms morph, makes it like tweaking a 2-Osc, but sounding like More Than That, need be... i like that it's all there, and that everything makes sense, when i go in for the hone... an extremely well thought interface and "circuit", makes it a 90% synth that can reach your nooks and crannies of sonic aspiration without busting a sweat , and still sound as visceral as any old school analog while it's at it.
