Used on hundreds of hit recordings from the 1980s onward, the RMX16’s lush reverb programs are instantly recognizable. Going beyond the sonics of the original hardware, the AMS RMX16 Expanded Digital Reverb plug-in adds nine rare custom programs, giving you endless sonic possibilities for any source.

What They Say

I've used the AMS RMX16 on every record I've made since the early 80s. I doubted if a plug-in could truly capture all the nuances of my very favorite digital reverb. I'm blown away with the result.

Ross Hogarth

Van Halen, Ziggy Marley, Motley Crue

I’ve been using the AMS RMX16 since the mid 80s. It’s indispensable to nearly every project I have worked on. Having the plug-in on the UAD platform gives me the same sound without compromise.

Mick Guzauski

Daft Punk, Mariah Carey, Eric Clapton

I’m addicted to this plug-in. No other reverb sounds like an AMS RMX16. Such classic programs and the UAD version has all the depth and character of the original hardware.

Jeff Balding

Taylor Swift, The Eagles, Florida Georgia Line

    Instant 80’s

Awesome recreation of an iconic reverb. Sounds fantastic, and doesn’t eat up too much space in the mix. Buy it, you’ll love it!

    Another Great Plugin

I have a lot of reverb plugins but none are quite like this one. You can go from very tame and ambience type reverb to extreme. Very musical and pleasant to my ears.

    80s resurgent

If you’re looking for that Peter Gabriel/dark 1980s sound, look no further. An absolute gem!

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, you’ll need an Apollo audio interface, UAD-2 Satellite, or UAD-2 PCIe card to run these plug-ins, using the onboard DSP. The plug-ins run on the hardware itself, without adding strain to your computer’s CPU. In an Apollo, onboard DSP processing allows you to run realtime UAD plug-ins with near-zero latency, and even record that processing directly to your DAW.

This refers to the number of SHARC DSP processors in Apollo and UAD-2 hardware. A DUO core system has twice the amount of processing power compared to a SOLO core system. More SHARC DSP cores increases the number of UAD-2 plug-ins you can run on the hardware.

No, Satellites provide DSP to run UAD-2 plug-ins in your DAW.

Yes, you can start a fully functional 14-day demo from any plug-in bundled with the UAD software. Simply click “Start Demo”, and start using it in your DAW.

UAD-2 licenses follow the hardware, it does not matter which computer they are connected to. You can have up to six UAD-2 devices registered to a system in your Universal Audio account, which share those licenses. See UAD-2 Plug-In Licensing Explained for full details. Authorisation of UAD-2 hardware is managed by the UAD Meter & Control Panel Application.
